Black-tailed godwits, Leighton Moss

Public transport routes and services change and are sometimes axed completely. I'll try to update any changes as soon as I find out about them. Where bus services have been cancelled or renamed I'll strike through the obsolete bus number to mark this change.

Lazy day

Starling

I suspect most of December will be spent filling bird feeders. The arrival of the starlings was accompanied by a lot of noise from very disgruntled spadgers.

  • Black-headed Gull 1 overhead
  • Blackbird 2
  • Blue Tit 2
  • Coal Tit 1
  • Collared Dove 2
  • Common Gull 1 overhead
  • Dunnock 1
  • Feral Pigeon 1
  • Great Tit 2
  • House Sparrow 29
  • Magpie 1
  • Starling 40
  • Woodpigeon 2

Across the road the gulls were out in force in the blustery weather:

  • Black-headed Gull 31
  • Common Gull 2
  • Feral Pigeon 4
  • Herring Gull 7 (two adults, one 4th-winter, a 3rd-winter, two 2nd-winters, and a brute of a male 1st-winter)
  • Jackdaw 7
  • Lesser Black-backed Gull 6 (five adults and a 1st-winter)
  • Rook 5
