Black-tailed godwits, Leighton Moss

Public transport routes and services change and are sometimes axed completely. I'll try to update any changes as soon as I find out about them. Where bus services have been cancelled or renamed I'll strike through the obsolete bus number to mark this change.

Home thoughts

The weather forecast delivered as promised so I stayed at home and caught up with last night's cricket.

The cold snap brought in both families of house sparrows, plus a few strangers (the hen sparrow with the cream cap is new to me). I refilled all the feeders, quarter of an hour later the spadgers were joined by a flock of starlings. Down on the ground under the blackcurrant bushes both the pair of robins made an appearance (they've been a bit standoffish lately). The great tits and blue tits tagged along with the spadgers, as did a couple of long-tailed tits. No sign of the coal tits, though, they tend to dislike crowds and slip in and out unobtrusively when they get the chance so I probably missed them. It's a different story when they have the garden to themselves for a while and they're not remotely shy of me. No idea where the collared doves were today.
