Home thoughts

I'm not awfully good a identifying nocturnal migrants. The oystercatchers that fly over in early Autumn and the calls of skeins pink-footed geese are easy enough but the rest usually leave me puzzled. I was lucky last night: it was a flock of curlews flying over at midnight and lesser black-backs at half-six this morning.
